Fairbanks at -44 Below (2/5/2008) |
This sequence of pictures was captured from our office window, along the lower Chena River. The first set was taken at 11 o'clock in the morning, when the temperature reading was -44 degrees below zero and the ice fog was near zero visibility.

The second set was taken at 3 o'clock in the afternoon from the same
location. The temperature had warmed to -26 degrees below zero and the
ice fog had 'burned off' somewhat.
